My schizophrenic angel
Tonight, Lord
I have asked you
to send me an angel,
which would tell me
what to do and
what to leave.
But you sent me
to myself
to be my own messenger.
Being my own schizophrenic angel
for myself.
for myself.
As my own light unto my path
that shoots on when I pass myself.

This was actually in a genuine Christian book for faith-tangled teenagers xD
I think it is hauntingly beautiful in it's own way ^^ :3

How did you interpreted this poem*?
(*Is this called a poem? Or is there a English word that better specifies this summary of words?)

Mijn schizofrene engel
Vanavond, Heer
heb ik u gevraagd
mij een engel te sturen,
die mij zeggen zou
wat te doen
en wat te laten.
Maar u heeft mij
naar mezelf gezonden
om mijn eigen boodschapper te zijn.
Mijn eigen schizofrene engel
wezen voor mezelf.
Als mijn eigen licht op mijn pad
dat aanschiet als ik mezelf passeer.
My interpretation of it is as followed:
ReplyDeleteIn the first verse the prayer pleads for a (wo)man at his side to tell him/her how to live his life.
In the second verse the lord answered his plead by telling him to lead his own life and make his own decisions.
In the final verse the prayer found his way and sees the path he takes as the light (ephiphany).
If I didn't know its origin I would have called it a poem, but it's probably a passage from the bible.
It is hauntingly beautiful and it fits the message you try to convey through your blog.
Keep it up!
